Farm Therapy.

Therapy.

  • Two people, a man and a woman, sitting on a hay bale under a large tree on a farm, with two fluffy Highland Cattle, one on each side. The man is wearing a light blue shirt and hat, smiling, with a rope in his hand. The woman is wearing a plaid shirt, shorts, and boots, holding the head of the Highland Cow on her side, affectionately leaning close to it.

While there's nothing we find more therapeutic than cuddling a cow, our Highland Cattle Experience isn't intended as therapy. However, therapy does take place at Koolah Creek!

Did you know we have a fully qualified Occupational Therapist in the family?

  • Woman smiling while holding a young Highland cow on a farm with ducks and a pig in the background.

    Meet Sharelle Taylor.

Sharelle is an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist with 35 years of experience. She has been a senior therapist and team leader in community mental health and child development teams, and now runs her practise ‘Echidna Hut’ from our farm.

  • A person in a red shirt sitting on grass in a farm or rural area with cows grazing nearby, under large tree with sprawling branches and bright blue sky.

Echidna Hut has several therapy programs held on the working farm at Koolah Creek. These include:

    • Farm Therapy

    • Animal Assisted Therapy (Equine & Bovine Therapy with the Highlands)

    • Other evidence-based outdoors programs

Please contact Sharelle directly for all therapy-related enquiries!
